Rush In & Rush Out

I have been watching with great interest the unfolding drama with conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh and his effort to be a partner in ownership of the St. Louis Rams NFL team.

Let me lay a bit of groundwork ... I'm not a "dittidiot", a blind follower of the Rush political/social riptide. I have listened regularly to Rush in the past but not for about a year or more, I just got worn out from the same old rhetoric which has become very tiring at least to me.

Back to the topic at hand ... in my humble opinion, Rush has every right to be a
part owner of the Rams or any other team his chooses to be involved with.

With that being said ... what is the real issue here? His Conservative political views? His sometimes "far-right" social views? Perhaps it is just the "icky" factor? Could it be his public persona is just too overwhelming?

The way I see it is that the NFL owner are nothing more that a "good old boys club". According to an interview of Bob Costas by Dan Patrick, the NFL owners may reject any bid for any reason they deem fitting. As Costas said "If they do not like the way you part your hair ... your out!" Sounds weird but that seems to be the lay of the NFL landscape.

Is this about what Rush says or has said? Where is the tolerance? I have been operating under the impression that we are now working under the new "BIG" tent where every opinion carries the same weight. There are no absolutes, no one is right and no one is wrong. Did I miss the memo stating that this is all true as long as you agree with the liberal left? I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm asking an honest question. If Rush Limbaugh was a flaming left liberal would that make any difference? Would this even be an issue?

Like him or not, Rush should be allowed the right to walk through the process without the "public outcry" and current NFL players spouting off that they would not play for a team owned by Limbaugh. That is truly a stupid statement! NFL players are all about the money and will play wherever they can get the most cash. Remember, whenever a professional athlete says it is not about the money ... it is always about the money! Protect the shield!!!
At least that's ...The Way I See It

If a gay person wanted to buy the team nothing would have been said. That's the world we leave in today.

The other side of the issue is that the NFL is a private organization and I believe they can include anyone, or exclude anyone they please. One of the great issues in this country is the ability to let private corporation make their own rules and run their own organization.
