Stop Already!

Just a quick note!

Between the President and the "birth certificate" fiasco book-ended with the "Royal Wedding" my head is ready to explode!

Frankly Scarlet...WHO CARES!

What about $4.00 a gallon gas, world wide terrorism, devastating spring weather clean-up......the list goes on & on & on & on!

Would just one grown-up step up and lead!

Just saying......

Blogger Briefs

So much going on ...I really don't know where to start.

Attended the Talents for Christ event in Des Moines at the beginning of April and the young people of our church did very well. One of our young ladies will be traveling to Denver in June for a National Competition!

I had the privileged to attend the Ordination Counsel and Ordination Service of Pastor Jeriah Shank. Jeriah did perhaps the finest job of knowing and handling the Word of God that I have ever seen as a part of an ordination. So very thankful for God's working in his life!

We just finished up a 12 week bible/worldview study titled: "The Truth Project" from Focus on the Family. This video is led by Del Tackett who  does a VERY good job and I found this a very challenging series. If you have the chance to walk through this video series, I would highly recommend this study!

Until Later,

Jr. High Jazz Band - Really????

Ever been to a Jr. High band concert? You know the drill - take your seat and sit through the squeaking & screeching & flat notes. We go to encourage the kids but sometimes it can be just brutal!

So ... Daniel ask me to go to the "Swing Into Spring" concert at the High School, I jumped at the chance. The Grinnell High School Jazz Band - SWEET! I could not wait!

Upon arrival, Daniel explained to me that this was the Jr. & Sr. High Spring Concert. Fine, I thought, I'll just sit through the Jr. High just to get to the High School Jazz Band.

We walked into the auditorium and the Jazz band was warming up and they sounded great! I told Daniel how good they sounded and he said: not bad for Jr. Highers!!!! I had no idea! This Jr. High Jazz band was incredible! Most schools have a hard time putting together a Jr. High band let alone a Jazz band. These kids were good!

Perhaps the highlight of the evening was a solo by a High School guy who sang "Mona Lisa" with a deep baritone voice. Very good!

Already looking forward to next year!
