Bracketology - WOW! The Sweet Science

Really! VCU/UConn/Butler/Kentucky! That is your Final Four!

Out of the gazillions of brackets submitted to ESPN only 2 or3 have the Final Four correct. Once again proving the old adage: That is why they play the games!

AS FOR ME: I'm now pulling for the real underdog! I want VCU to go all the way & win the National Title!

That's the way I see it!

Doh-k Bracket Update - My Last Gasp!

What happened in the NCAA tourney last night!?!?!?! Are you kidding me?? Either the teams went off script OR I'm an awful college basketball mind!I'm so very afraid that it is me ... I'm not seeing it clearly - my great NCAA college basketball mind is in a fog!

Here is my original final 4 teams: Notre Dame - OUT! BYU - OUT! Duke - OUT! and North Carolina - STILL IN & my last hope!

But before I sit back to watch NC run the table to a National Championship, they need to win over Marquette this evening and either Ohio State or Kentucky (my great college Basketball mind sees the winner as Ohio State over Kentucky!) Plus ... there is the little issue of the other teams still in the meat-grinder of March Madness!

Even though my bracket is nearly busted ... I love watching the games whenever I'm able and this is still the greatest time of the year!

NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

I know that I'm a bit late on the posting about the tournament but today is the beginning of the sweet 16 round and by late Sunday evening the feild  of 68 will be narrowed down to just 4 ... the final 4!

My bracket that I filled out really needs a tourniquet! On the bracket front I have chosen poorly! That being said ... all of my final 4 teams are still alive and in the tournament.

This has always been one of my favorite times of the year. When my sons were younger we used to all fill out the brackets and watch the games together. Now that they are older we still talk about our brackets but were not able to watch the games, I miss those opportunities.

Enjoy the games and may your brackets prove CORRECT!!!!!

Bits & Balderdash - 3/21/11

Check...Check...Check - Hey is this thing on???

Haven't made a lot of time for blogging lately.

The story is the same for everyone, more stuff to do than time to do it!

#1. Cranberry/Banana Muffins

3 or 4 ripe bananas
1/3 c melted butter
1 c sugar
2 6 oz. packages of dried cranberries
1 egg beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 c flour

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, smash bananas. Mix all the ingredients in order, flour last. Mix together with fork. Pour mixture into greased muffin pan. Bake @ 350 for 20 min. or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Just thought you might like that one!

#2. New Favorite Movie "UP" -

Carl Fredrickson, a little boy and a dreamer who idolizes the adventurer Charles Munts. When he meets Ellie, who also worships Munts, they become close friends. However Charles Munts falls into disgrace, accused of forging the skeleton of the monster of Paradise Falls. He travels in his blimp to South America to bring the monster back alive but is never seen again. Eventually he Carl grows up and marries Ellie. They promise each other that they would travel together to Paradise Falls and build a house there. Many years later, Ellie dies and Carl, who's lonely, refuses to move from their house despite the offers of the owner of a construction company. When Carl accidentally hits a worker that damaged his mailbox, he is sentenced to move to a retirement home. However, he uses many balloons to float his house in order to travel to Paradise Falls. Adventure ensues.

I really like this even though it is a bit sad in the beginning. I just bought the soundtrack which has a really cool back-story in and of itself. Check it out, I think you will like it!

I see myself as a fairly solid Iowa fan but I did not see this in the offing...
