A Very Busy Saturday

Saturday was the Talents For Christ competition here in Iowa and a very busy day for the Cox Family.

Both Philip and Susan participated this year. Philip in the area of preaching and Susan in the woodwind area playing her flute. Both did very well and really enjoyed the experience. I think they will both be participating again next year. BTW, I was a judge for the Female Public Speaking and Oral Interpretation of Scripture.

Special congratulation's to Joshua and Julie Farrell. Josh took 1st place in Male Voice and Julie took 1st place in Bible Knowledge with a 94% on her test. With their first place finishes both of them are entitled to go to the National GARBC Conference in Pennsylvania at the end of June.

TFC was a great experience and I'm already looking forward to next year.

Following the TFC in Des Moines, we traveled up to the state wide youth activity at FBBC.

The youth pastors program students wanted a project and they choose to put on a youth rally around the NCAA Final Four games. The event was called "Bracket Breakdown" and was a huge success! There were about 300 young people there not counting in the support staff.

I was given the privilege and honor of being able to open the Word of God with the young people. I'm always thankful to get to preach but I so enjoy speaking to teens. we had a great time in the Word!

The rest of the activities consisted of watching the games, many different basketball tournaments, 3 point shoot and as always with teens ...TONS OF PIZZA! There were also lots of give aways, including a PSP and a WII gaming consoles. These must be a great things to win but I'm clueless about game systems.

All in all it was a great day, although very long. We rolled out of the rack at about 5 AM on Saturday and I finally got in to bed at 1 AM on Sunday morning. I love the ministry!
