Last Saturday morning it was pouring rain here but the weather forecast said that the rain would stop and the sun would shine. And so it did.
I was at IRBC for the father/son retreat to listen to the speaker, Pastor James Reynolds. During a break before lunch was served the rain stopped ans the sun emerged and I was on the dock.
Within 45 minutes I again had my limit of walleyes! The first one landed was the largest at 21 inches!
It has been a very good season so far this year for walleyes at the camp!

Fishing @ Iowa Regular Baptist Camp
Took some personal time this evening to go fishing and had an incredible time! Caught my limit of walleye's, legal length for walleye's on Clear Lake is 3 fish 14 inches or larger. Mine were 15 - 15 - 16! As you look at the pictures notice the girth of the 16 inch fish. By the way ... The filets were spectacular and I'm looking forward the lunch tomorrow!
Pastor Steve!
Pastor Steve!
A Wild Weekend!
Very bust weekend!
State-wide youth rally on Saturday in Altoona, just East of Des Moines. Left Clear Lake at 7 AM and returned home around 8 PM. Long day in 50 degree weather with high winds and spitting rain.
Sunday afternoon we drove to Des Moines for a family photo shoot. This was the kids Mother's Day gift to Lynn. We left Clear Lake right after our morning service, around 12 noon, and was back to Clear Lake in time for me preach in our 6 PM service. That is a flying trip!
Monday afternoon we drove to Des Moines to put Susan on a plane to South Africa! She is on a college mission trip and will begone until June 4.
The only good thing about all of this traveling is that the price of fuel is so low!
